Turn meeting notes into tasks
Get decisions, owners and due dates out of a transcript.
What you'll build
A saved prompt, and optionally an automation, that turns a meeting transcript into a list you can check and paste into your tracker. Get people's agreement before recording meetings.
The steps
- 1Save three transcripts
Use meetings you attended, so you know what really got decided.
- 2Write the prompt
Ask for decisions, then tasks with owner and due date. If either is missing, write "not stated".
- 3Compare with your memory
Note missed tasks, invented owners and things discussed but not decided.
- 4Fix the format
Match your tracker's fields, so the output pastes in cleanly.
- 5Share it after the meeting
Send it to attendees to correct. They'll catch what you can't.
- 6Automate if it's still worthwhile
Connect the transcript source to the prompt, and create tasks as drafts.
Practice material
Practice transcript (invented): Lina: We need the pricing page live before the campaign. Omar: I can draft it by Thursday. Lina: Great. Someone should check it with legal. Omar: Maybe. Also, should we drop the old plan? Lina: Let's decide that next week. Expected: Decisions: none final. Tasks: Omar drafts the pricing page, due Thursday. Legal check, owner not stated, due date not stated. Open question: drop the old plan? Decide next week.
You're done when
- The practice transcript gives the expected result
- It writes "not stated" instead of guessing owners
- Attendees correct less over time
